Decisions, not grinding
Every week you make a handful of choices that genuinely move the needle: minutes, roles, a trade, a word in the locker room. There is no energy timer standing between you and the next game, and nothing to wait out.

The pitch
Most mobile management games are a spreadsheet with a timer bolted on. Backcourt is built around the three things that actually make managing interesting: real decisions, a match you can read, and consequences you can see.
Every week you make a handful of choices that genuinely move the needle: minutes, roles, a trade, a word in the locker room. There is no energy timer standing between you and the next game, and nothing to wait out.
The engine plays out possession by possession on a live court with a running commentary feed, so you can see why the lead disappeared in the third — not just that it did.
The same stat line is ordinary from a star and outstanding from a bench player. Backcourt grades every performance in context, the way a coaching staff would.
Inside the game
01 — Match day
Players move on a live court, the ball changes hands, and every action lands in the commentary feed with a quarter and clock stamp. Run it at 1×, push to 8× when you are cruising, or skip straight to the result when the bus leaves.
02 — Squad
Fifteen roster spots, one wage bill and 240 minutes a night to divide. Give a role to every player — rim protector, floor general, glue guy — then set the rotation by hand, or let auto-lineup take the first pass and fix what you disagree with.
03 — Market
Filter hundreds of players by position, rating and what you can actually afford. Every target carries a value and an asking price, and the gap between the two is the whole negotiation. Pay cash, or build a player-plus-cash package that a rival will actually accept.
04 — Locker room
After the final buzzer every player gets a mark scored against what was expected of him, and then the room waits for you. Praise them, walk through it calmly, blast them, or say nothing at all — each with a visible effect on morale and form that follows you into next week.

Yes. Backcourt is free to download on both the App Store and Google Play, and a full career — every season, the playoffs, the transfer market and the Online League — can be played without spending anything. There is no energy meter gating how many matches you play and no paid item that makes your squad stronger.
It is a basketball management simulation. You are the general manager and the head coach of a club: you sign and sell players, decide who starts, share out the minutes, give every player a role, and then watch the match play out possession by possession. You never control a player directly with a stick or a button — you win by making better decisions than the manager in the other dugout.
Four places, and your progress is the same game on all of them:
The phone build is portrait-first, so it works comfortably one-handed. The game is playable in English, Turkish, German and Spanish.
Yes, and it is a genuinely different layout rather than a blown-up phone screen. On a Mac the extra width is used to put the roster, the live court and the play-by-play feed side by side, so you can watch a game and adjust minutes without switching screens. It is a universal purchase — download it from the Mac App Store on any Apple silicon Mac running macOS 11 or later.
Career mode runs entirely on your device and works offline — on a plane, on the underground, anywhere. The Online League needs a connection, because you are being matched against other managers and the results have to be settled on the server.
That is your call. At 1× a game plays out in a few minutes with a full commentary feed. At 8× it takes well under a minute. If you only want the outcome, skip to result settles it instantly and drops you straight into the box score and the post-game ratings.
